Santos held a tactical session on Friday as Neymar edged closer to involvement and could be named to face Noroeste.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the morning work at CT Rei Pelé started with physical drills before technical exercises on the pitch. Coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda then worked on team shape and movement.

Players who featured for more than 45 minutes in the derby with São Paulo completed recovery work in the gym as part of load management.

Recovered from left knee arthroscopy in late December, Neymar has advanced his transition and has trained on grass since last week. There is a possibility the number 10 will be included for Sunday’s match. The game is considered decisive, with the club currently the first team outside the Paulistão relegation zone and still chasing a place in the final phase.

Another player who should be available is Thaciano. The attacking midfielder has recovered from an oedema in his right hamstring sustained in the derby with Corinthians, which sidelined him for the last four matches. After starting his transition at the beginning of the week, he trained normally on Friday.

Santos visit Noroeste on Sunday at 16:00 at Estádio Alfredo de Castilho in Bauru. The staff will confirm the squad after Saturday morning’s session, then travel to the interior of São Paulo in the afternoon.
