Wales cruised to a routine 3-0 victory over Liechtenstein at Cardiff City Stadium on Friday night, continuing their strong start to 2026 World Cup qualifying Group J.

Goals from Joe Rodon, Harry Wilson and Kieffer Moore were enough to seal all three points against a visiting side that struggled to threaten throughout.

As it happened

From the outset, Wales set the tempo. Their dominance in possession was matched by a steady stream of chances, and they eventually made the breakthrough in the 39th minute, when Rodon rose highest to nod home Sorba Thomas’ corner.

After the break, the hosts quickly reasserted control. The second goal arrived midway through the half, as Jay Dasilva whipped in a perfect cross from the left and Wilson guided a clever header into the far corner.

Just three minutes later, Moore added a third. Picking up the ball near midfield, the striker turned into space and launched a remarkable long-range effort that flew beyond Benjamin Büchel and into the top of the net. It was a sensational strike that left the Liechtenstein keeper with no chance.

Wales continued to create chances in the closing stages, with David Brooks, Liam Cullen and substitute Lewis Koumas all involved, but there would be no further goals. At the other end, the visitors rarely threatened – only forcing Karl Darlow into routine stops as they struggled to progress beyond midfield.
