According to ExpressAndStar.com, former West Brom head coach Eric Ramsay has been linked with the Wales job if Craig Bellamy leaves for Burnley.

The 34-year-old has not returned to management since his brief spell at The Hawthorns early this year. Appointed on January 11 as Ryan Mason’s successor, he oversaw a winless run of nine matches across 44 days.

That slide deepened Albion’s relegation worries before former player and coach James Morrison steadied the side and led a run to survival.

The Football Association of Wales are said to have kept tabs on Ramsay, who arrived at The Hawthorns from Minnesota United and previously worked within the Welsh youth set-up. He has also served as an assistant at Manchester United and worked in Chelsea’s academy.

Ramsay grew up on the Shropshire-Welsh border and earlier in his career worked in the academy and first team at hometown club Shrewsbury. He was highly rated for his work in Minnesota before the ill-fated Baggies stint.

Burnley, relegated from the Premier League and set to face Albion in the Championship, are seeking a successor to the sacked Scott Parker. The Welsh FA are said to want £1million in compensation for Bellamy, with possible replacements, should he go, including Steve Cooper and recently sacked Wolves boss Rob Edwards.
