James Morrison outlines West Brom transfer push and right-back need | OneFootball

According to ExpressAndStar.com, James Morrison said Albion are working hard to strengthen the squad with two weeks until the season starts.

Earlier on Saturday a fringe side lost 3-1 in a training-ground friendly to League One new boys Notts County, settled by two late goals. Later, a stronger team won 4-1 at League Two Shrewsbury Town in front of 3,200 travelling supporters.

Returning left-back Conor Townsend became the fifth summer signing on Friday night. The squad still needs two wingers and a right-back, plus further additions to deepen options.

Morrison said there is no single position targeted and that everyone at the club is working extremely hard to bring players in. He added they are aligned and work is going on behind the scenes.

On Saturday night Albion were linked with French right-back Nolan Galvez, 23, of Ligue 2 side Rodez, with Southampton also said to be keen. QPR and Millwall have also been linked this summer, as well as Young Boys and OGC Nice.

The Baggies are interested in a deal to bring back Danny Imray. Morrison accepted the need for a right-back but would not discuss a player at another club.

Albion begin their season away to Rotherham United in the EFL Cup on 8 August, against another fourth-tier side.
