Bragantino announced the signing of Wallace Yan on Wednesday via social media, the former Flamengo forward agreeing a contract until December 2031.

To land Yan, the São Paulo club paid approximately six million euros, about R$ 35.5 million, for 70% of his economic rights. Juliano Viana moves to Flamengo’s under-20s and is valued at one and a half million euros, around R$ 8.8 million.

The 21-year-old had been in Bragança Paulista since the start of the week for medical tests. Cleared to sign, the Flamengo academy product was unveiled, ending a saga that began in early 2026.

In January he even bid farewell to Flamengo after an agreement with Bragantino, but president Luiz Eduardo Baptista, known as Bap, blocked the proposed payment structure despite approval from the football department.

He returned to squads but played rarely, third choice behind Pedro and Bruno Henrique. Without him, Flamengo have agreed the signing of Joaquín Freitas, 19, formerly of River Plate in Argentina.

Yan’s standout moment was a goal against Chelsea at last year's Club World Cup, a 3-1 Flamengo win. He also scored against Benfica in a 2026 friendly in Portugal.

For the senior team he posted seven goals and five assists in 49 games. He was part of last season’s Brasileiro and Libertadores wins and has three Carioca titles. In 2024, under Filipe Luís, he switched from winger to a number nine and won a youth world title.
