A Dutch journalist has taken a dig at Rangers following their decision not to proceed with the signing of PSV Eindhoven winger Couhaib Driouech due to an injury concern.
Rangers were on the verge of signing Driouech after overcoming competition from clubs in La Liga and the MLS for a winger they had been monitoring for at least two years.
The Moroccan had already agreed personal terms over an €8m transfer before travelling to the UK to undergo his medical and complete the move to Ibrox.

However, the Gers eventually pulled the plug on the deal for the 24-year-old, with suggestions from Scotland that the proposed move fell through ‘due to an injury’.
The decision caught PSV Eindhoven boss Peter Bosz by surprise, as he had seen no problems with Driouech and expected the winger to leave the club.

It was suggested earlier this month that Driouech was ‘deemed fit for the long term’ at his Rangers medical, while PSV Eindhoven felt he could even have been playing in the short term, causing a disagreement between the two clubs.
Driouech has been included in PSV Eindhoven’s matchday squad for their clash on Sunday, raising real questions over Rangers’ injury claims.
For Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink, the situation makes little sense and he aimed a dig at Rangers by stressing for someone who is supposed to be sidelined for six weeks he can do a big amount of training.

“For someone who was supposed to be sidelined for six weeks with an injury, he was already able to do a remarkably large amount at training this week.
“Now he’s even already with the match selection.”
Driouech could still secure a transfer this summer, with Celta Vigo and MLS side Columbus Crew having ‘officially contacted’ PSV Eindhoven over a potential deal for the winger.
Now, Rangers are pushing to sign another winger, Kim Min-su, but the Girona star is not sure what he wants to do.
Elsewhere, the Light Blues are keen on PSV Eindhoven defender Adamo Nagalo, with an approach for the centre-back ‘likely to quickly materialise’, although they face competition from Turkey.
