Atletico Madrid opened the scoring against Inter in the Champions League tonight, however in controversial fashion.
In the tenth minute, Simeone whipped a good ball in, controlled by Alex Baena. After an intercepting tackle from Carlos Augusto, sliding along the floor, the ball ricocheted clearly off Baena’s arm.

Baena then fed the ball to former Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez, who opened the scoring. After a lengthy VAR check, the goal was awarded to the hosts, despite furore from the Inter players, staff and fans.
