It will be a truly historic and emotional day for FC Barcelona and their fans, as the team finally returns to the Camp Nou for an open training session attended by 23,000 supporters. 

After months away due to renovations, the sight of Hansi Flick’s players stepping onto the newly refurbished pitch filled the iconic stadium with excitement and nostalgia.

From the moment the gates opened, the atmosphere was electric. Fans packed the Tribune and South Goal stands, their voices echoing through the stadium that, despite its modern upgrades, still preserved its original charm. 

The loudest cheers, unsurprisingly, were reserved for young sensation Lamine Yamal, who continues to capture the hearts of Culés across generations.

First experience for many

For many players, the occasion held an even deeper significance. Several members of the current squad had never experienced the thrill of playing inside the Camp Nou. 

That included Hansi Flick himself, who got his first real taste of what it means to lead Barça in their spiritual home. 

Players such as Wojciech Szczesny and Marcus Rashford had only previously visited as rivals, while others, academy talents like Marc Casado, Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez, Gerard Martin, Marc Bernal, and Pau Cubarsi, were stepping onto the legendary pitch for the first time in their young careers. 

Goalkeeper Joan Garcia and winger Roony Bardghji also marked their first appearance on the sacred turf.

Breathtaking response

The response from the fans was nothing short of extraordinary. Tickets for the open session sold out within days, reflecting the immense anticipation surrounding Barça’s homecoming. 

After months of construction and temporary adjustments, seeing the team train in the Camp Nou once again felt like reclaiming a piece of their identity.

From a sporting standpoint, Flick used the occasion as both a morale booster and a preparatory session ahead of Barcelona’s upcoming La Liga clash against Celta Vigo at Balaidos.
