Real Madrid youngster Gonzalo García on Tuesday sent a timely reminder the way of Blancos headmaster Xabi Alonso.

This came by way of his latest goal on the international stage.

Frontman Gonzalo was for his part in from the off this evening, as Spain’s U21s locked horns with Romania in an European Championship qualifying fixture.

And inside the opening 20 minutes, the 21-year-old had added his name to the scoresheet.

His latest goal comes at an important time for Gonzalo, amid what has been a difficult season at club level to date.

Sitting behind Kylian Mbappé in the centre-forward pecking order at Real Madrid, the young striker has been afforded just one start in all competitions by Xabi Alonso.

On Tuesday, Gonzalo therefore sent a message to his club boss: afford me playing time, and I will repay you with goals.
