Watford rally to climb to 11th after half-time changes | OneFootball

Watford beat Preston North End 2-1 at Vicarage Road, climbing from 18th to 11th as Edo Kayembe and Mamadou Doumbia overturned Callum Lang's early opener.

Callum Lang struck in the fifth minute, finishing from close range after a corner to give Preston the lead.

After the restart, the Hornets introduced Othmane Maamma, Stephy Mavididi and Iker Bravo, and the momentum flipped. Kayembe drilled into the top left (69.). Doumbia then glanced in Bravo's cross for the winner (76.).

Federico Ravaglia kept the Hornets in it with five saves, including smart stops from Jordan Thompson early on and Harry Clarke after the break (58.).

Preston threatened through Delano Burgzorg, who was denied by Ravaglia after a through ball from Alfie Devine (73.).

The Hornets saw more of the ball with 61.2% possession and produced 15 attempts, five on target. Preston registered 18 attempts, testing the keeper six times.

The result drops Preston from 23rd to 24th. Next, the Hornets host Stoke City. Preston welcome Lincoln City.
