Watford sign experienced goalkeeper Lambourne | OneFootball

Watford have completed the signing of experienced goalkeeper Demi Lambourne on a free transfer.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Golden Girls this morning.

The 30-year-old stopper joins Watford after leaving fellow Barclays WSL2 club Sunderland earlier this summer at the end of her contract. Lambourne spent two seasons on Wearside. She made 28 appearances for The Lady Black Cats in all competitions.

Lambourne started her career at former second tier club Oxford United before enjoying six years with Leicester City. She was a member of the Foxes side that won Barclays WSL2 in 2020/2021. Lambourne often acted as a back-up keeper during her time with the East Midlands club and she had loan spells with Coventry United and Crystal Palace to get more minutes under her belt in her latter days at The King Power Stadium.

The keeper will now hope to use her experience to help Watford compete strongly in Barclays WSL2 this season. The Golden Girls won the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division last season and they will now be keen to cement their place in the second tier.

Lambourne is Watford’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
