The question we were asking Newcastle United fans on Saturday was – Where do you now think Newcastle United will finish in 2025/26 Premier League?

We are now a couple of months into the season.

Newcastle United already into their second international break of the season.

Next Saturday 3pm and a trip to Brighton is on the agenda once proper football returns.

Over nine months and 38 rounds of matches played in total in the Premier League.

United currently two months and seven Premier League matches in.

This is how the 2025/26 Premier League table currently looks on Sunday 12 October 2025:

A tough opening schedule of matches and Eddie Howe facing other factors to deal with as well.

After seven games Newcastle United are 11th, with nine points from two wins, three draws and two (very late!) defeats.

With 31 Premier League matches still to go, if you had to put your mortgage/rent on it, what is your gut feeling on where Newcastle United will end up in this 2025/26 season?

Conclusions

Only a very small handful of those voting, voted for a bottom half position, nowhere near enough to 0.51% for any option that would have given a 1% against any position above.

Fifth place the most popular choice with 34% of fans choosing it, whilst sixth with 23% and fourth getting 18%.

The real story I think of the voting, is that 75% (three quarters) of the Newcastle United fans voting believing somewhere between fourth and sixth is most likely.

Averaging out all the votes, Newcastle United fans collectively thought fifth was the most likely finishing position in the 2025/26 Premier League table.
