Marc Guéhi has hailed Erling Haaland and Gianluigi Donnarumma as true City gamechangers following the impact of the pair in our comeback 2-1 triumph at Liverpool.

Dramatic late turnaround earns vital Premier League win at Liverpool

Haaland showed courage in abundance to smash home the vital winning goal from the spot in the closing moments at Anfield.

But then, Donnarumma made a world-class save in the dying embers of the match on Merseyside to hand us our first league double over Liverpool in 89 years.

Guéhi was hugely impressed with what he saw from the star pair.

“I think it sums him up as a character and as a person,” he said of our No.9’s decisive spot-kick.

“Even when he isn’t scoring, he was still doing a lot for us in terms of fighting and holding the ball up and he’s a fantastic player who rightfully deserves the goal so full credit to him.

“You talk about gamechangers. You’ve got gamechangers one end of the pitch with Erling who was fantastic and then a big pat on the back for Gigi - it was a fantastic save.”

Guéhi was thrilled with Sunday’s success which put us six points behind leaders Arsenal in the Premier League table.

The ace defender stressed that belief to pick up the right result at such a tough venue as Anfield and typified the confidence and faith felt among the players.

“It was great and such an exciting game to play in – it was an eventful game for sure,” Guéhi added.

“It was always going to be a tough game. They are an incredible team.

“We showed a different side and a great togetherness. We stuck together and it was so important.

“The belief has to be there. You come to places like this and it’s very tough, everyone knows that but if you don’t go and believe, what’s the whole point playing in the first place?

“Credit to everyone and to the fans for spurring us on.”
