‘We know each other without talking’ – Szoboszlai hails Mac Allister’s Liverpool importance | OneFootball

Dominik Szoboszlai says he “loves” playing alongside Alexis Mac Allister after the midfield duo helped Liverpool to a 2-1 Champions League victory over Atletico Madrid.

Mac Allister expressed his “sadness” at having not been offered a new Liverpool deal, ahead of their opening Champions League clash, in which he scored the winning goal.

And Szoboszlai stressed the importance of the Argentine in this Liverpool team.

“I think I’ve said it many times, I love to play with Maca,” Szoboszlai said.

“We know each other without actually talking. When you look at someone and he knows what you want to do, and I know exactly what he wants to do, so I think it helps the team as well.

“But that’s the managerial decision, who will play the next games.”

Liverpool’s victory over Atletico followed their Premier League win against Ipswich, providing further momentum after a frustrating start to the campaign.

Szoboszlai, however, insists the Reds are not getting carried away and have already turned their attention to their next game against Fulham.

“What I can say now, it was a good push for us,” he said. “Take the win over the line. Today it’s the same, take this win with us.

“We look game by game all the time, every day, so we’re not looking for the three games in front. We are trying to focus on Fulham right now.

“I think it was a good push, but me personally, I don’t care.

“I focus more on myself, we focus on ourselves, and not on someone else, what they think about us.”
