According to Werder Bremen chief Peter Niemeyer, Samuel Mbangula is attracting interest from other clubs.
Speaking to the club-affiliated site 'DeichStube', Werder Bremen's head of first team football didn't mince words regarding the rumours.
“We have players in the squad who are generating interest – and Samuel Mbangula is one of them because he has an exciting profile.
“That's why his name is definitely being mentioned in the market,” the 42-year-old explained quite clearly.
Mbangula moved from Juventus to Werder Bremen last summer for €10million, but has rarely been able to demonstrate his potential.
Just under a month ago, the 22-year-old's agent, Grace Diamouangana, hinted that they would even consider another transfer.
“There are currently no concrete offers that we need to consider. Not for Sam, and not for any other player.
“We are therefore planning with him as normal,” Niemeyer added, pouring some cold water on fears that the Belgian could leave suddenly.
