Bild reports that Werder Bremen have submitted a written offer to Hertha BSC defender Michal Karbownik.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, the 24-year-old left-back is free to negotiate with other clubs.

Bremen sit 17th in the Bundesliga and risk relegation, but the contract on offer is valid regardless of the division they play in next season.

The former Brighton player has made 19 appearances for Hertha this season and has earned four caps for Poland.

He previously worked with Werder coach Daniel Thioune during a loan at Fortuna Düsseldorf in 2022/23, and he can also operate in central or wide midfield.
