West Brom confirm first summer friendly at Peterborough on one August | OneFootball

James Morrison's side will visit Peterborough United for their first confirmed pre-season friendly of 2026/27 on Saturday one August, with a three pm kick-off.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the Cambridgeshire trip falls the weekend before the new season begins, with competitive action starting in the EFL Cup first round. The draw for round one takes place on 25 June.

Peterborough play in League One and finished 18th last season under Luke Williams, the former Swansea boss who had been linked with The Hawthorns role before Tony Mowbray's appointment 18 months ago.

Albion's visit will be their first at the West Homes Stadium in five years, their last coming in a Championship clash in August 2021. Semi Ajayi netted a late winner that sent the away end into raptures and had then head coach Valerien Ismael sprinting down the touchline.

That campaign was the Posh's only season in the Championship since 2013 and they finished 22nd to be relegated. They went on to place sixth and fourth, losing out in the play-offs both times, then recorded two consecutive 18th-place finishes.
