West Brom are closing in on the transfer of Levante winger Kareem Tunde

West Brom are in talks to sign Kareem Tunde from Spanish side Levante as we enter the final week of the transfer window.

According to Full Throstle, the Baggies are keen on a deal for the 21-year-old in a bid to bolster their attacking options.

James Morrison’s side have made a strong start to the new campaign, winning both of their first two league fixtures.

Victories over Norwich City and Burnley have left them as one of just four sides to have a 100 per cent record at this stage.

Albion narrowly avoided relegation from the Championship in 2025/26, so will be hoping to improve and climb the table over the next 12 months.

And the club could yet still bolster their squad ahead of the 1 September transfer deadline.

West Brom are believed to have agreed a deal with Levante for the signing of Tunde in the final week of the transfer window.

The winger is being targeted in a bid to bolster Morrison’s side after a promising start to the new season.

The 21-year-old has a contract with Levante until June 2029 after cementing himself as a regular in the side in the previous campaign, having made the move to the club after graduating from Barcelona's famed La Masia academy system.

The Spaniard made 21 appearances in La Liga in 2025/26, including 17 starts, contributing one assist to help the team avoid relegation.

Tunde came off the bench against Espanyol last weekend, with Levante losing 3-0 in their opening game of the new campaign.

It’s been claimed by Spanish journalist Salva Gomis that Albion are set to pay €3 (£2.5) million to sign the 21-year-old, with another €2 (£1.7) million in add-ons also included in the deal.

Levante have also negotiated a 20 per cent sell-on clause as part of the deal.

West Bromfans are mixed in their response to the potential signing of Tunde, with some suggesting it’s a promising move to sign someone with 21 La Liga appearances.

Others believe that it’s the kind of move that fits in with the club’s other transfer business.

However, some concerns have been raised regarding his offensive impact for Levante last season, registering just the one assist.

West Brom return to action on Wednesday with a trip to face Newcastle United in the second round of the EFL Cup.

Morrison has been well backed this summer, and this addition is further confirmation that the club are behind their head coach.

While his statistics for last season are underwhelming, it’s also true that he is only 21 and earning regular minutes at a La Liga level.

So there’s clearly a promising player in there, and perhaps a move to the Hawthorns will let him develop at a level that can better play to his strengths.

For the size of this deal, this has the potential to be a smart piece of business, but it will require Tunde making a smooth transition from Spanish to English football, so it’s far from a guarantee that this will work out.
