West Brom Set To Snap Up Midfielder As Deal Done | OneFootball

West Brom have reached an agreement with Manchester United to sign Toby Collyer and are set to put him through a medical, according to Baggies’ insider Talkwba.

Collyer began his football career at Brighton’s academy and then he joined Manchester United’s youth system in 2022.

Last term, the 22-year-old defensive midfielder spent the first half of the season on loan at West Brom, and then spent the second half on loan at Hull City, as he helped the Tigers to win promotion to the Premier League.

The midfielder made 17 Championship appearances, 12 for the Baggies and five for the Tigers, despite missing a number of games due to injury.

Collyer’s performances while on loan at West Brom were praised by former EFL star Adrian Clarke and seem to have also made an impression on now Baggies boss James Morrison.

Morrison wants to see the Manchester United talent back at the Hawthorns and the club look to have now delivered for him.

An agreement has been reached between the two clubs, with now the final details of the deal to be ironed out and a medical to be held, before West Brom can push the deal over the line.

Collyer had attracted interest from Hull City this summer and the Tigers did look well placed to sign him, however the midfielder is heading for the Baggies.

It is unclear what the terms of the agreement for Collyer are, but he is surplus to requirements at Manchester United under Michael Carrick.

Collyer was part of Manchester United’s pre-season touring party, but the battle for game time at Old Trafford is fierce and he will back himself to play on a regular basis for West Brom.

The midfielder featured for Manchester United in pre-season games against Wrexham, Rosenborg and Leeds United.

Now all eyes are on how quickly West Brom can push the deal for the midfielder over the line, but he is likely to have to wait for his debut, with the Baggies next in action against Carrick’s former club, Middlesbrough, on Saturday.
