West Brom’s Ollie Bostock nearing first loan to National League until January | OneFootball

Albion winger Ollie Bostock, 19, is close to sealing his first loan move, with a temporary switch to a National League club targeted until January.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, several National League clubs are interested and the non-league registration window remains open. Talks earlier in the main window stalled, but expectation now is for a deal to be finalised. He has 10 senior appearances for West Brom, including three starts.

Bostock made his debut under former boss Ryan Mason last October at Millwall, catching the eye late on despite defeat. He then impressed in January’s FA Cup shootout win in Swansea, supplying an assist and converting the winning penalty.

He is a Wales youth international and trained with the senior squad under Craig Bellamy in the summer. He featured throughout pre-season and came on late in the EFL Cup defeat at Newcastle. His contract runs to the end of this season.

Head coach James Morrison wants older academy players to get senior minutes and remains hopeful Bostock can secure a loan, feeling he has outgrown under-21 football and lamenting the lack of a deal in the main window.

If completed, Bostock would follow Alex Williams to Hibernian and Cole Deeming to Hartlepool. Williams has yet to play, while Deeming debuted in a 1-0 win over Woking.
