West Ham United have Franculino Dju on their list of targets, according to West Ham Way.

Franculino has been on fire this season, bagging 19 goals and three assists in 26 appearances for Midtjylland.

However, West Ham look set to miss out on him in January, with his club reiterating that he is not for sale.

Asked whether he expects to keep Franculino in the winter transfer window, Midtjylland sports director Kristian Bach Bak said (via Bold): “I do, 100 percent”.

“I do because Franculino knows that his dream will be achieved if we achieve something big together this season.”

West Ham desperately need a centre-forward, with Niclas Fullkrug scoring only three goals in 27 appearances.

The striker position is crying out for a youthful, hungry, and lethal centre-forward to lead the line, and Franculino fits the bill.

However, even if West Ham wait until the summer transfer window, they will not be alone in the race.

Bayern Munich reportedly submitted a bid for him last summer, and they could return for Franculino.

West Ham can’t pin their hopes on Franculino suddenly becoming available, not with Midtjylland shutting the door and Europe’s heavyweights circling.

The Hammers should consider turning to Strasbourg’s Joaquin Panichelli. The Argentine proved his pedigree in Spain with 22 goals and eight assists.

He has carried that momentum into Ligue 1, where his movement, aerial power and link-up play stand out in every performance.

If the Hammers are serious about reshaping their frontline and moving on from temporary fixes such as Callum Wilson, Panichelli has the profile they need.
