West Ham United striker Pablo Felipe is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks with a calf problem, according to The Athletic.

The Brazilian joined West Ham from Gil Vicente in January after they paid €20 million to bring him to the London Stadium.

Hammers manager Nuno Espirito Santo announced in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Manchester United game that Pablo was injured and would be out for a while.

Felipe is expected to return to action after the international break in March, in a much-needed boost for West Ham’s survival hopes.

The 22-year-old will miss the games against Bournemouth, Liverpool, Fulham, Brentford and Manchester City, but could be back for the trip to Aston Villa on March 22.

West Ham have seven league games left after their trip to the Midlands, and Felipe should be available for them as they look to retain their Premier League status at the end of the season.

They could also still be playing in the FA Cup by then if they beat the Bees in the last-16 next month.

He has yet to register a goal or assist in six appearances for the Hammers, but his work rate has been very impressive. He has become popular with the fans due to his unrelenting tenacity on and off the ball.

Felipe notched ten goals and one assist in 13 games in the Portuguese top-flight earlier this season before moving to West Ham, and he has what it takes to deliver in the final third.

West have won five of their last seven games across all competitions, drawing one. A win at home against Bournemouth on Saturday could be huge.
