West Ham United are interested in recruiting the services of Chelsea attacking midfielder this summer, according to talkSPORT.
West Ham manager Graham Potter wants a reunion with the England international at the London Stadium club after working together at the Stamford Bridge club.
Sterling is surplus to requirements at Chelsea and is set to leave again after spending last term on loan at Arsenal.
The Hammers are now looking to do a deal for the 30-year-old as they look to bolster their options on the wings after selling Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham Hotspur.
Sterling has two more years left on his current Chelsea deal, and it is unknown whether West Ham want to sign him permanently or on loan.
He currently earns £325,000 per week, which would prove too much for the Hammers except he agrees to lower his demands.
Arsenal paid around 30 per cent (£97,500) of his wages last season during his loan spell at the North London club, and a similar deal could work for West Ham.
He ended up with a goal and five assists in 28 appearances for the Gunners but Potter appears convinced he can get him firing on all cylinders again.
Sterling notched ten goals and 11 assists in 43 games for the Blues in 2023-24 after ending 2022-23 with nine goals and four assists in 38 games.
He was one of the best attackers in the land while at Manchester City, scoring 131 goals and assisting another 86 in 331 appearances at the Etihad Stadium club.
The former Liverpool winger has four Premier League titles, one FA Cup and five Carabao Cups to his name, and West Ham could do with such a winner in their dressing room going forward.
They are not the only ones keen on signing him, with Fulham and Crystal Palace also eyeing a move, while Juventus want to lure him away from England.
