West Ham Won’t Give Up For Attacker Despite Rejected Bid | OneFootball

AZ Alkmaar have rejected West Ham United’s opening offer for Troy Parrott, but the Hammers are not giving up on the former Tottenham Hotspur hitman.

Following their relegation to the Championship, the London club are going through a big squad overhaul this summer.

They have already lost the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Mateus Fernandes and Freddie Potts in the ongoing window.

However, no marquee incomings have taken place at the London Stadium, as former Brighton man Joel Veltman has been the only arrival to bolster the defence.

The Hammers, though, are in the market to bring in a new striker even though the likes of  Pablo Felipe and Taty Castellanos are already at the club; Castellanos has been linked with a potential exit.

Al-Ittihad hitman George Ilenikhena is a player they like , but La Liga side Sevilla are also looking to bring in the Nigerian, while Sunderland‘s Wilson Isidor is also wanted by Hull City.

With about three weeks to go before the window shuts down, the Irons are looking at other forwards to add to their attack.

Former Tottenham Hotspur man Parrott emerged as a top target for the Hammers and they have already made an offer for him.

But according to Dutch journalist Joost Blaauwhof, AZ Alkmaar have turned down West Ham’s bid for the Irish forward.

The Hammers, though, are not ready to give up on the 24-year-old, as they could go back with another offer for him.

West Ham face European competition for Parrott, who RB Leipzig also want and have been in touch to get their hands on him.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are currently focused on getting a deal over for Spurs winger Manor Solomon, who is set to undergo a medical.

Spurs have kept a 20 per cent sell-on clause for Parrott when they sold him to the Eredivisie side, where the Irish forward has scored 51 goals in 97 games, and De Kaasboeren want to get the maximum price they can for him.
