West Ham travel to Nottingham Forest on Sunday in a state of crisis, with manager Graham Potter under immense pressure.
The Hammers are bottom of the table after losing their opening two league games, conceding eight goals in the process, and were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup in midweek.
Graham Potter’s squad has been boosted by the arrival of Mateus Fernandes from Southampton.
The 21-year-old midfielder is eligible to make his debut at the City Ground. However, the manager is still without a number of players. George Earthy, Crysencio Summerville, and Luis Guilherme all remain on the sidelines through injury.
Lucas Paquetá, who scored a superb goal against Chelsea, is subject of transfer interest from Aston Villa and open to an exit. It’s unclear whether he will feature as part of a midfield set to include Tomáš Souček and James Ward-Prowse.
Captain Jarrod Bowen is set to lead the line, after issuing an apology for his confrontation with the fans in midweek. Bowen was pulled away from the West Ham supporters in the aftermath of the cup exit at Wolves.
West Ham United predicted XI: Hermansen; Todibo, Kilman, Aguerd; Wan-Bissaka, Souček, Ward-Prowse, Diouf; Paquetá, Fernandes; Bowen.
The Premier League fixture takes place at the City Ground on Sunday, 31st August 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 2pm BST.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Premier League in the UK. Coverage begins at 1pm BST.
