Nottingham Forest closed the campaign with a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth at the City Ground. The Cherries remain a bogey side, the run now 12 without a win.

According to Nottingham Post, safety was secured with two matches to spare and Forest will be in the Premier League in 2026/27, their fifth straight season back. A lap of appreciation followed, which Pereira called emotional.

Elliot Anderson was replaced in the 65th minute to a standing ovation. He delivered two fine crosses that should have been converted and worked tirelessly.

Post-match he applauded all four stands, posed for photos with Neco Williams, and spent time signing autographs and selfies by the tunnel.

He offered few clues on his future. Pereira stopped short of guaranteeing the England international will stay, and Ola Aina wore a signed Anderson No.8 shirt, so a farewell would not surprise.

This was only Pereira’s 12th Premier League match in charge. He has knitted together a tight group, from Ibrahim Sangare retrieving Morgan Gibbs-White’s mask to Dan Ndoye taking a photo for Willy Boly. Williams even joked Ryan Yates would get his card out for the pints.

Gibbs-White’s young son drew a cheer by scoring past his dad, then copied the fingers-in-ears celebration. Pereira later thanked supporters for backing the team through difficult moments and said they fought, suffered and celebrated together, adding next season they will be stronger.
