What had started out as a horrific first half at the City Ground ended up being a nice day out for Chelsea fans. They beat Nottingham Forest 3-0, with some important academy influence.

The first goal was scored by Josh Acheampong, who spoke to TNT Sport after the game about scoring his first professional goal.
“It was a surreal experience. A proud moment for me and my family. It’s inspirational [to have Reece James as captain]. I’m grateful to him and all the other players to come through the academy.”
Then the captain himself got a chance to speak about the win after scoring the third goal on his 200th Chelsea appearance:
“It was amazing [the performance]. We’ve always found it tough coming back from the international breaks. This is a super tough place to come.
“But in the second half we came alive and we got the three points,” the defender said.
He played a vital role and was man of the match in general – we also now know we’re going to have to rely on him next week as a silly red card for Malo Gusto ruled the Frenchman out of next week’s game against Sunderland.
You can see the goals from Josh, Reece and Pedro Neto in the videos here. That second half salvo earned us 3 points and lets us relax in the second half.
Despite a big 3 points after a much improved second half, it won’t just be the red card which is frustrating Chelsea fans. Wesley Fofana, who was supposed to be back for today’s game, wasn’t in the squad today either. We await more information about his status from Enzo Maresca after the game.
