Charlton Athletic fans reactions are overwhelmingly positive towards manager Nathan Jones
Charlton Athletic's impressive first season back in the Championship following promotion in the League One play-off final against Leyton Orient continued on Tuesday evening, with Sonny Carey's late strike deflected beyond Josh Griffiths in the West Brom goal to give the Addicks a 1-0 home victory over the Baggies.
Tuesday night's win means that Charlton remain in the play-off places in the Championship after 14 games, with six wins, five draws, and only three defeats, culminating in what has been an excellent campaign so far for the side from South East London.
Led by the polarising Nathan Jones, the Welsh manager is rarely away from the limelight, especially after a big victory for his side, and Tuesday evening was no different, as he was quick to join his players in celebration in front of the rapturous home support.
Having started his coaching career with the Addicks back in 2012 as an Under-21 development coach, Jones spent time with Brighton and Hove Albion before taking his first senior managerial role with Luton Town whilst the club was still in League Two in January 2016.
He'd spend three years at the Hatters, taking them up to League One and on the cusp of promotion to the Championship before jumping to crisis-ridden Stoke City, where he lasted just eight months before returning to Luton once more.
A brief stint with Southampton in the Premier League followed, where he recorded a victory over Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in the League Cup, but after eight league games, he was dismissed once more, and joined Charlton in League One in February 2024.
Having guided the Addicks to a memorable promotion, the Welshman has carried the feel-good factor through into this season, much to the delight of Charlton fans.

Known for his boisterous interviews, where he wears his heart on his sleeve, his post-match interview following Charlton's late winner at The Valley on Tuesday evening was no different.
A five-minute interview where he sounded almost breathless throughout, Jones was absolutely ecstatic following his side's victory.
Charlton fans will be pleasantly surprised by just how well their side has coped with the trials and tribulations of Championship football so far, and with the side sitting in the play-off picture, they will no doubt feel that the sky is the limit this season, with a large portion of the credit being directed towards Jones.
Addicks fans were quick to show their delight towards their manager following his post-match interview.
Alan Curbishley managed Charlton between 1991 to 2006, taking charge of 729 games and leading them from the second tier to becoming an established Premier League side, so comparisons to him a not made lightly, but such as the mood around the place, Jones has got the fanbase well on side.
With the amount of iconic interviews Jones has given in the past, for this to be judged as one of the best ones is truly telling of just how big a win that was for Charlton.
Whether they want to or not, this Charlton fan expresses how they cannot help but love Jones for the work he is doing at the club and just how passionate he is about it.
'Lucky' is a term used towards a few managers in a few situations, but as indicative of the job that Jones is doing in South East London, Charlton fans feel truly lucky to have the Welshman at the helm.

There seems to be a unanimous feeling of love directed towards Jones at Charlton, who are defying early expectations placed upon them this season.
Having earned promotion the hard way via the play-offs, the usual main goal of a side that gets promoted that way is first and foremost survival, but Jones and Charlton are going beyond that.
Fifth in the table after fourteen games, with only Stoke City bettering their defensive record this season, having conceded just 11 goals, there appears to be no reason as to why the Addicks can't aim high this campaign.
With the parachute payment teams not up to scratch as yet, the Championship is as wide open as it has ever been, which presents a golden opportunity for a side like Charlton to sneak into the top six.
However, with just over a quarter of the season gone, they cannot afford to become complacent, but with the overwhelmingly positive atmosphere echoing around The Valley at the moment, Charlton and Jones are a force to be reckoned with.
