New boss Julien Stephan has sparked a revelation at Loftus Road and has turned the Rs into one of the second-tier’s most dangerous outfits, which didn’t appear to be the case during the early stages of the season.

QPR picked up just a single point from their opening three matches and were hammered 7-1 by Coventry City in that period.

During his first job in English football, Stephan could’ve fallen under at this point but the exact opposite has happened, with the West London outfit responding in fine fashion ever since.

Rangers went on a six-match unbeaten run which resulted in four victories, subsequently pushing them up towards the top of the Championship standings.

Last time out, QPR bested Swansea City to record another impressive win, which pushes them onto 18 points after 11 matches, level with Charlton Athletic in fifth and just two points behind Millwall in third.

Although a tough, mid-week win on the road is always a team effort, one man received most of the praise from Rs’ supporters following the contest.

Nicolas Madsen showered in praise by QPR fans following Swansea City win

Nicolas Madsen signed for QPR in 2024 from Belgian side Westerlo for £2m but struggled to make much of an impact during his first season at Loftus Road.

The attacking midfielder scored 14 goals in 34 appearances in the campaign prior to his move but only managed three in his maiden term with Rangers.

However, Madsen has been back at his best this season and a key part in why Queens Park Rangers have been able to establish themselves as a competitive second-tier outfit.

His outing at Swansea City didn’t go unnoticed by QPR fans, who were quick to shower the Dane in praise after the match.

“Actually not a good performance,” stated one Rangers fan, clearly not happy with how the side operated on the whole. “Madsen motm by an absolute mile. Ilias clearly with a point to prove, looked great when he came on.”

“Madsen.......Stand out tonight,” commented another. "Field??? Jeeeze. Smyth....Stay on the bench please. Missed Vale and Davies tonight. Dembele becoming a big disappointment indeed. Hope Poku isnt the same. Poor Koki marked out of the game.”

There were more references to both Madsen’s strong performance and QPR’s poor showing on the whole, but an acceptance that three more points on the board is the only thing that matters.

“Madsen absolutely class again,” commented a QPR fan. “Really poor second half. Take the 3 points and move onto Saturday.”

“Madsen motm,” claimed another.

Queens Park Rangers supporters will hope to build on their current form in the following weeks

Queens Park Rangers’ recent upturn in form has positioned them favourably in the Championship standings, but they can’t begin to rest on their laurels.

A crucial period in the second-tier season approaches, as clubs begin to separate into those chasing promotion, fighting relegation or simply resigned to mediocrity.

Too often have QPR fallen into that latter category in recent years, but under Stephan they look to have real potential to make this season one to remember.

In the coming weeks, Rangers face sides such as Derby County, Southampton and Sheffield United, who have all struggled so far this season.

If the West London outfit can capitalise on this run of fixtures and pick up a healthy number of points, they may announce themselves as real serious contenders for a play-off spot come May.
