Boca is getting ready to face Platense at the Ciudad de Vicente López stadium for Matchday 5 of the Torneo Clausura. The Xeneize, coming off a 3-1 win over Recoleta in the Copa Sudamericana Round of 16, hopes to carry that momentum into the domestic competition against Martín Palermo’s side.

In the last round of the domestic tournament, the team from La Ribera drew 1-1 with Vélez Sarsfield at the Adolfo Tomás Ducó stadium, and Vasco Arruabarrena is planning to make some changes to the starting XI for the visit to the Calamar. With international competition still underway, the coach is looking to rotate the squad and give some regular starters a rest.

Meanwhile, the Vicente López side’s main objective is to put its negative run behind it under Martín Palermo. Boca’s all-time top scorer arrived after Walter Zunino’s departure due to poor results and secured the Calamar’s first win of the Clausura with a 1-0 victory over Independiente.

On the international stage, the Titán’s team could not hold on for the win against Coquimbo Unido in the Libertadores Round of 16. The Chilean side equalized in the 95th minute thanks to a goal by Guido Vadalá, a former Boca player.

The Matchday 5 clash in the Clausura will have a special edge because of the Titán’s presence on the opposing bench. The last time the Xeneize idol faced Boca was on August 18, 2023, also as Platense manager.

The match between Boca Juniors and Platense will be played tonight at the Ciudad de Vicente López stadium starting at 9:15 PM. The game, which will be refereed by Jorge Baliño, will be broadcast on TNT Sports Premium.
