Elland Road will greet 20 former Leeds United players next season, with receptions likely to range from warm applause to hostility. The ground’s atmosphere rarely hides what home fans think.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Bournemouth, Arsenal and newly promoted Hull City are among the visitors bringing familiar faces. Karl Darlow has joined Manchester United after his contract expired, the first such switch in 22 years, and the outlet understands he could not be guaranteed the same status after being first-choice last season.
Jaidon Anthony is due back with Brentford on August 30. He spent 2023/24 on loan at Leeds, then produced eight goals and two assists for Burnley last season before a £20m move to west London.
Eddie Nketiah returns with Crystal Palace on September 19. Loaned to Leeds in 2019/20 before being recalled for lack of minutes, he left Arsenal for Palace in a £30m deal in summer 2024 and is still chasing regular starts.
Darlow’s first Elland Road visit in United colours is pencilled for October 17.
Tottenham arrive on November 7 with two ex-Whites. Djed Spence’s 2023/24 loan ended early under Daniel Farke, since then he has revived his career at Spurs and earned a World Cup call-up. Academy product Archie Gray left for £40m in 2024, has developed with minutes limited, and his place will be one to watch amid a busy summer.
Coventry City visit on November 28 with Matt Grimes, who played seven Championship games on loan in 2016/17. He captained Coventry to promotion last season.
