Juventus have missed Weston McKennie in their last two matches, with the American unavailable after suffering a muscle injury against Frosinone. The absence of one of the Bianconeri’s influential players has been noticeable, but the club have been careful not to rush him back before he is ready.
The injury is not thought to be a major issue, but the men in black and white know they must manage McKennie carefully to prevent the problem from becoming worse. He has therefore been placed on a personalised training programme since suffering the injury.
The American is regarded as one of the most important players in the Juventus team, and the Bianconeri are keen to have him available again. However, rushing his recovery could create more problems and potentially leave him sidelined for a much longer period.
With that in mind, Juve have allowed McKennie to remain out of full training for now. However, the wait could soon be over, with Calciomercato reporting that the attacker is one of the players who could feature in their next league game.
The report says Juventus expect to receive the go-ahead for McKennie to take part in team training during their next session. If that happens, it would put him in line to be fit for the next league match the Bianconeri play.
His return would give Juventus another important option in their team after he missed their last two matches. The club have been cautious with his recovery, but they now appear increasingly confident that he can resume working with his teammates soon.

McKennie is a very influential player for Juventus, and his importance is also reflected in the role he has been given within the team. He is the main number 10 in their system, a position in which Luciano Spalletti believes the American performs better than any other player in his squad.
That makes his return particularly important for the Bianconeri. While Juventus have avoided taking unnecessary risks with his recovery, having McKennie available again would give Spalletti another key player as the season continues.
