In a content starved international week, we were very happy to have the Daily Mail’s Chelsea Confidential column from Kieran Gill drop to keep us busy while we await the press conference for Liam Rosenior tomorrow.
Of course he covers the comments from Marc Cucurella and Enzo Fernandez, and points out why the words from the former are even more damning than those from the latter.
While Enzo was always something of a mercenary – let’s not forget he forced his move to Chelsea by going on strike at Benfica, Cucurella is considered one of the “good guys” (off the pitch, at least…).
Gill says the full back is “one of the most polite players in the game”.
“When Chelsea need someone to speak to the media, he is seen as a safe go-to.”
He notes that it was Cucurella who stepped up to speak to the media before the Club World Cup final when Enzo Maresca sacked off his duties. The point being, when you’ve lost Cucurella, you’ve probably lost everyone…
Another powerhouse striker will be coming to the Premier League this summer – but will it be Chelsea who sign him?
Enzo Fernandez’s comments about Chelsea were made possible by the leadership vacuum at the club says former player John Obi Mikel.
