With news UEFA have given the all clear for AC Milan and Como to play their Serie A game in Australia in February, what happens next for fans wanting to attend in Perth?
The biggest obstacle to moving the Week 24 match was UEFA, but today they gave begrudging permission to schedule the fixture outside the Italian territory.
The request was made because San Siro is being used for the opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, although moving it halfway across the globe was more of a marketing decision.

Although we do not have a date yet, as it will be on February 7 or 8, the venue is confirmed as the Optus Stadium in Perth.
This arena has already hosted the Rossoneri’s friendly match against Perth Glory over the summer, while last year it was the location for a friendly between the Diavolo and Roma.
The stadium capacity is 61,266 seats, but considering getting there requires a 20-hour flight, it seems unlikely current season ticket holders will want to attend.
With that in mind, AC Milan are set to give reimbursements for this match to those with season tickets.
Meanwhile, the fixture should strengthen the bond with the local authorities, who in turn see this as an opportunity to boost the sport’s profile in Australia, and with Milan Club Perth.
