The summer transfer window has come to an end, and Serie A giants Milan were the biggest spenders in Italy, while Genoa took a cautious approach.
The 2025 summer transfer window closed on September 1, with some significant deals, including Adrien Rabiot to Milan and Manuel Akanji to Inter.
Specialised transfer website Transfermarkt has ranked Serie A clubs by their transfer spending this summer, and Milan emerge as the Italian team that spent the most over the last two months.

According to Transfermarkt, the Rossoneri invested €164m in new signings, followed by Juventus with approximately €137m and Atalanta with nearly 130m.

The sums include loan fees and investments to make loan moves permanent.
Quite interestingly, Como made the top five after being the highest spenders in Serie A in the January transfer window.

Lazio spent nearly €30m but just to make loan moves permanent, such as those of Nicolò Rovella from Juventus and Nuno Tavares from Arsenal, as a transfer embargo prevented the Biancocelesti from welcoming new players.
Genoa only completed free signings and loan transfers and practically didn’t invest a penny to buy new players.
