An eventful 2024 comes to an end for Bayern Munich with a home clash against RB Leipzig on Friday. The Bavarian club had a mixed year, with the first half ending in heartbreak as they ended last season without a trophy. However, the second half of the year has been enjoyable for fans as they witness an attractive style of football under Vincent Kompany.
Die Roten endured a setback last weekend as Mainz clinched a shock 2-1 win at home turf. It was Bayern’s first league defeat of the season. Despite the defeat against Mainz, Bayern remain top of the table with a lead of four points over Bayer Leverkusen.
RB Leipzig, Friday’s visitors, are also in the title race as they sit in fourth position in the points table. A win on Friday will nicely set the Bundesliga title race for the second half of the season.
Kompany would like to see a response from his team after last weekend’s setback. He will receive a significant boost on the injury front since several players have returned to training this week. Let us look at the potential starting XI for Die Roten that will take the field for the last time this year.
