Who will Bayern face? Here’s how to watch the Champions League draw live | OneFootball

Things are about to get exciting for FC Bayern on Thursday. In Monaco, the eight opponents for the Munich team in the Champions League group stage will be drawn.

FC Bayern is turning its attention back to the Champions League. On Thursday evening, it will be decided which eight opponents the German record champions will face in the group stage of Europe’s premier club competition.

The draw will take place on August 27 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco and begins at 6 p.m. The event is scheduled to last about an hour.

For Bayern, the draw will determine their path through the entire group stage. Since the reform of the Champions League, there are no longer traditional groups of four. Instead, each club plays eight matches against eight different opponents—four at home and four on the road.

The 36 teams will be divided into four draw pots based on their UEFA club coefficients. Each club will be drawn against two opponents from each pot. FC Bayern could also face teams from its own draw pot.

Additional broadcasts in Germany are available on DAZN, Amazon Prime Video, and Sky. Bayern fans can thus watch live to see which eight clubs are drawn against the Munich team.

However, certain restrictions still apply. Matches between teams from the same national association are prohibited during the group stage. This means FC Bayern cannot face Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, or VfB Stuttgart. Furthermore, each club may be drawn against a maximum of two opponents from the same country.

On the field, the Champions League season kicks off shortly thereafter. The first matchday of the group stage is scheduled for September 8–10. The group stage will run through January 27, 2027.

After the eight matches, the top eight teams in the overall standings will advance directly to the round of 16. The clubs ranked ninth through 24th, on the other hand, will have to go through the playoffs. The final will take place on June 5, 2027, at the Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid.
