Richards Bay coach on the importance of Chiefs win

Richards Bay co-coach Papi Zothwane has explained why it was imperative for his team to claim Kaizer Chiefs' scalp in their Betway Premiership meeting on Tuesday.
The Natal RichBoyz stunned the Soweto giants with a solitary goal, to move within one point off the top eight as they sit ninth with 23 points picked up in 19 league outings.
Chiefs, meanwhile, came into the game looking to bounce back after a Soweto mauling, but instead stretched their winless run to four games across all competitions.
Zothwane says the importance of the victory stems from the urge to avoid being a rebound for Chiefs, and ending the drought for a win at uMhlathuze Sports Complex.
“We always treat games equally but obviously games are different, and the mindset sometimes becomes different, the planning becomes different, and obviously we were playing a Chiefs that has lost three games in a row,” he said.
"And obviously we didn't want to be a culprit of a team that [has been losing] and they bounce back with us, worst part playing at home. What made our boys to even want it more is because our last win here at home was against AmaZulu in December.
"So, we needed a win, we owe this win to ourselves because we always work with the players all the time, it was about ourselves. We told them we have to own this win as players and the technical team.
Richards Bay will swing back to action with a clash against log leaders Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Wednesday, 11 March.
