The London is Blue podcast had the unfortunate task of looking back at Monday’s defeat to Nottingham Forest, and they noted that Joao Pedro had made some interesting comments after the game.
“He had a comment after the game too, saying, ‘I don’t think it’s about the coach, it’s on players to step up, it’s difficult to say something,'” presenter Dan Dormer said.
“I do like that, but I don’t love that players are having to call out other players. But it’s better than what Trevoh Chalobah said a couple of weeks ago when he talked about players giving it their all when players were not necessarily giving it their all.”
You can see them discussing the answer in the clip embedded here:
We suppose it becomes pretty difficult to blame the manager when you’ve had three in a season and been bad under all of them. The players were always going to have to take some responsibility eventually.
Chelsea are insisting they don’t need to sell Cole Palmer – but the question is becoming, might they want to sell him?
Jesse Derry had a promising debut for the Blues on Monday, before it was cut short. His path for next season will be very interesting, with a loan already suggested.
