Juventus have been linked with a stunning move for Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United as the Bianconeri continue to consider bold moves during this transfer window.
Fernandes has entered the final year of his contract at United, and the Red Devils could be open to selling him after they missed the opportunity to cash in on him for a significant fee in the summer of 2025. The midfielder chose to stay and rejected a big-money offer from Saudi Arabia in the process.
Fernandes could therefore be allowed to leave in this window and remains one of Juventus’ key targets. The Bianconeri have evaluated the possibility of signing him, but the deal would be difficult to complete because of the Portuguese star’s wage demands.
The transfer fee could also present an issue, but his salary would require Juventus to break the wage structure they have worked hard to protect during the last few transfer windows. This makes a move particularly difficult for Juve.
Fernandes remains an attractive target for Juventus because of his quality and experience, but the financial requirements could prove too demanding. The club will have to decide whether signing him would be worth making an exception to their current approach to wages.
Tuttojuve says the salary Fernandes would require is the main reason a move is unlikely. Juventus do not want to return to a situation where the club offers players more money than it can afford in wages.
The Bianconeri have instead been working to streamline their wage bill and maintain greater financial control. Their priority is to ensure that the team does not return to serious debt and major financial problems, as happened in the past.
Fernandes could therefore remain out of reach despite Juventus’ interest. The midfielder’s contract situation may make a transfer possible, but his wages could ultimately prevent the Bianconeri from completing a deal that would require them to abandon their carefully maintained financial approach.
For now, Juventus will continue to assess the situation, but Fernandes’ salary remains the biggest obstacle to a potential move.
