Santos could ease Rincón’s departure before his deal ends on 31 December if he receives an attractive proposal. According to Globo.com, the 38-year-old Venezuelan midfielder is in the final year of his contract.
Considered one of Neymar’s closest team-mates at the club, he is well regarded behind the scenes, which is shaping a willingness to facilitate any exit as a gesture of recognition.
Despite not playing, and with little prospect of that changing, especially after the arrival of Uruguayan Christian Oliva, Rincón has been valued for his professionalism and conduct in daily work.
He joined in mid-2023 and stayed on to contest Série B. He was among the group who accepted salary cuts to align with the club’s second-division finances.
Initially important, he began to lose ground last year, starting 20 of his 31 appearances. This season under Juan Pablo Vojvoda, he has managed only 11 minutes, coming on late in the goalless draw with Red Bull Bragantino in the Paulistão.
While not featuring, he continues to train as normal while awaiting a potential move. Given his short contract and current lack of minutes, only a permanent offer would prompt Santos to let him go now, and no significant fee would be sought.
