That resulted in a hectic summer, with Henrik Pedersen overseeing a major squad overhaul, and the early signs are positive, with Wednesday picking up nine points from their first four games.

That is a significant away following for a league game, particularly as the Weston Homes Stadium only holds 13,511, so the Owls will have 29% of the stadium.

The reason for the big allocation was shared back in May, as Peterborough had initially planned on moving home fans to the entire GH Display Stand, but the Posh fans didn’t want that.

Therefore, even though the normal allocation for away teams is 1,888, there was an agreement that the GH Display Stand and the Main Stand could be used to house supporters from clubs who would sell the bigger allocation.

After thrashing Bromley 7-2, and then showing a different side to win a tough game at Wycombe, the Owls should be in a very good place heading into the Peterborough game.

When you consider the numbers that Wednesday were taking away last season, when they lost most weeks, it’s no surprise that they are selling out now, even at a lower level.

Nevertheless, the fans still deserve huge credit, and they will be able to play a part in helping Pedersen’s side against Peterborough.

On paper, it’s a game that they will expect to win, but all away games in League One can be tricky, and that’s where the big away following will be able to help the Wednesday team, as it’s no doubt going to feel like a home game in terms of the noise that they will create.
