Flamengo have named their squad for Wednesday’s Libertadores last 16 first leg at Cruzeiro, and Wallace Yan is not included. The forward’s omission drew attention among supporters.
According to Coluna Do Fla, Leonardo Jardim left the number 64 out for technical reasons rather than injury. The youngster is available for selection.
Wallace Yan has played 343 minutes in 2026 across 14 matches, recording one assist. He was on the bench for Flamengo’s last two games but was not used.
Flamengo’s squad to face Cruzeiro includes goalkeepers Andrew, Dyogo Alves and Rossi, centre-backs Danilo, Johnny, Léo Ortiz and Léo Pereira, full backs Ayrton Lucas, Emerson Royal and Guillermo Varela, midfielders Arrascaeta, Carrascal, De La Cruz, Erick Pulgar, Evertton Araujo, Jorginho, Lucas Paquetá and Saúl, and forwards Bruno Henrique, Lorran, Pedro, Plata and Samuel Lino.
There are four absences, Alex Sandro, Everton Cebolinha, Luiz Araújo and Vitão. Alex Sandro is recovering from pain in his right calf, Everton Cebolinha has flu symptoms.
Luiz Araújo is in the final stages of returning to the pitch after a left knee injury. Vitão is sidelined with a muscle problem in his left thigh.
The first leg kicks off at 21:30 Brasília time at the Mineirão, with the return on 19 August at the Maracanã. If Flamengo beat Cruzeiro, they will advance to face Tolima or Independiente Del Valle in the quarter-finals, and could face Estudiantes, Universidad Católica, Rosario Central or Corinthians in the semi-finals.
