The Irish left-back is set to leave Selhurst Park this summer, with his preference to head to the third tier of English football, according to London News Online, with the Latics and Dave Challinor's Hatters interested.

Adaramola has had two loan spells so far during his short senior career. He joined Coventry City on a temporary basis ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, although he was recalled early after failing to make a single appearance in the Championship.

The youngster then spent the second half of last season on loan at Crystal Palace's sister club RWD Molenbeek in Belgium, where he played 14 times in Belgium's top flight.

The full-back is useful going forward as well as taking care of his defensive responsibilities, with his tackling, dribbling ability and willingness to get crosses into the box standing out as key attributes in his game.

Wigan are keen on a move to sign Adaramola on loan, as they continue to prepare for their second season back in League One following relegation from the Championship in 2023.

The Latics finished 12th in the third tier last season, and would have recorded a top 10 finish had they not been deducted eight points before a ball had been kicked. Wigan boss Shaun Maloney will hope that his side can attempt to bridge the gap to the play-offs next season.

Left-back Tom Pearce made 24 appearances in League One last season for Wigan, but he has now signed for MLS side CF Montreal. Liverpool youngster Luke Chambers also featured in that position for the Latics last term, before returning to his parent club this summer.

Luke Robinson has returned from his loan spell at St Johnstone, but it is no surprise to see Wigan in the market for another option at left-back. Adaramola would add quality and athleticism to the left-hand side, and would fill a position that certainly needs strengthening.

While Adaramola apparently has his sights set on a move to League One this summer, Wigan are not the only team in the third tier with an interest in the left-back.

Newly-promoted outfit Stockport are keen on the 20-year-old, as they look to re-establish themselves in League One after making it back to the division for the first time since suffering relegation in 2010.

Boss Dave Challinor has led the club from the National League to League One in under three years, making a name for himself as one of the most promising managers in the EFL in the process.

Adaramola would be a welcome addition if the Hatters do manage to beat Wigan to his signature, and he would provide good competition for Ibou Touray at left wing-back in Challinor's system.

Touray also had competition from defender Ethan Pye for his spot last season, but with the youngster primarily being a central defender, it opens the door for Challinor to strengthen at left-back, and they are set to do battle with their Greater Manchester counterparts for Adaramola.

It will be interesting to see where Adaramola ends up this summer, but wherever it is, there is a good chance that this could be a breakthrough season for the highly-rated Crystal Palace academy graduate.
