Harry Kane has long since become the face of FC Bayern. Since his move from Tottenham, the English superstar has impressed with his goals, leadership and modesty – and symbolises the new calm and class under coach Vincent Kompany. Now, for the first time, CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has made a concrete statement about the striker’s future.
In an interview with DAZN , the Bayern CEO made it clear that a contract extension is currently not an urgent issue, but is of course on the agenda for the long term. „Harry and we have already said a lot about this,“ explained Dreesen during the CL match against Club Brugge. „He’s looking at it calmly, is focussed on his games and on us winning titles. That’s what we want too.“
Dreesen is sending a clear message: the record champions want to conduct the talks about a possible extension carefully – without media pressure or time pressure. „We will talk to each other over the course of the season,“ announced the CEO.

Since his arrival at FC Bayern in the summer of 2023, Kane has fulfilled almost everything those in charge had hoped for. The 32-year-old has not only impressed with his impressive goal rate, but also with his professional demeanour and down-to-earth attitude – virtues that have quickly won him favour in Munich.
Kane himself has long since felt at home in the Bavarian capital. The England captain has repeatedly emphasised how comfortable he feels both in his sporting and private life. His family has settled in well and the harmony between player, coach and club management could hardly be greater.
Under Vincent Kompany, the attacker is blossoming once again. His role is clearly defined, his statistics outstanding – and his influence on the team enormous. No wonder those in charge want to tie the Englishman to the club for the long term.
Despite their sporting success, FC Bayern do not want to take any action when it comes to Kane. Dreesen’s statements show that the club is focussing on strategic composure. Unlike in the past, when contract talks were often accompanied by public pressure and rumours, this chapter will be approached calmly and respectfully.
It is an open secret that Kane wants to stay in Munich. According to BILD, Bayern would like to extend his contract, which runs until 2027, by at least one year until 2028.
