Willem II still searching for first Eredivisie win as in form Devin Haen secures point against AZ Alkmaar | OneFootball

Willem II scored late on against AZ Alkmaar last night to secure their second point in the Eredivisie since promotion. The side are still searching for their first win back in the top flight having played five games already, but will be happy to grab a point away to AZ Alkmaar. Equally important to Willem II is the form of Devin Haen. The 22-year-old striker scored his third goal of the season, proving already that he is going to be able to transition from the second tier to the Eredivisie.

Last season, Haen helped fire Willem II to promotion, with 19 goals in 40 games for the side. The former Feyenoord youngster had spent is experiencing his first season in the top flight, having spent past seasons out on loan at De Graafschap and Dordrecht. So far, Haen’s ability to find the net could be crucial if Willem II are to avoid an immediate return to the second tier.

AZ, on the other hand, remain top of the league and unbeaten, having won all five of their opening games before facing Willem II on Friday evening.
