William Capita, former Corinthians centre-back and captain from 2008 to 2010, visited CT Dr. Joaquim Grava on Saturday morning and was presented with a personalised 2026/27 shirt bearing his name and the number four he wore at Parque São Jorge.

According to Meu Timao, the tribute was handed over by football executive Marcelo Paz and football manager Julio Cesar, a former team-mate.

Capita arrived in 2008 and was among the leaders of the campaign that delivered the Série B title, taking the club back to the top flight. The following year he contributed to Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil triumphs, with Ronaldo the main figure.

He retired in 2010 while still at Corinthians. In total he made 161 appearances, recording 92 wins, 45 draws and 24 defeats, plus four goals and four assists.

After retirement he worked as a pundit and football manager, with spells at Corinthians, Bahia and Santos. Since 2025 he has been an investment adviser and partner at a wealth management company managing more than R$ 70 billion in assets.

His aim is to support athletes with financial planning after their careers, combining experience from football with management knowledge and a degree in accounting to help them maintain stability beyond the pitch.
