Osula expressed his delight at joining the Magpies in a statement on the club’s official website.

He said: “I’m very happy to be here. It’s a big club, a great club, so I’m very happy for the opportunity to join Newcastle United.

“It’s a great opportunity, and as soon as I heard about Newcastle’s interest, I knew I had to take the chance to join this club if it came.

“It has come, and I’m really happy to be here.”

Osula started his youth career at Danish club FC Copenhagen before joining the Blades in 2018.

The Danish footballer had a loan stint at Derby County where he made six goal contributions in 21 appearances across all competitions.

Osula is relatively unproven but he has the potential to become a decent forward under manager Eddie Howe.

He possesses the pace to trouble defences and also has excellent ball-striking abilities.

Newcastle are also pursuing a deal for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi.

The England international has been linked with several other clubs but the Magpies are the first to enter meaningful talks for him.
