William Saliba’s return to Arsenal’s central defence remains uncertain before the Premier League visit of Wolverhampton on Saturday at 21:00.
According to L'Équipe, Mikel Arteta said on Friday that the situation was unchanged and they would wait to see if he is available. He noted Arsenal had not trained the previous day, and added he thinks Saliba will be fit for Everton on Saturday 20 December at 16:00, but he was unsure about tomorrow.
Arsenal have conceded nine goals in 15 Premier League matches this season.
Saliba has missed the past three matches in central defence. That absence has reduced hopes of challenging the single season record of 15 goals conceded, set by José Mourinho’s Chelsea in 2004-2005.
His availability for Wolverhampton remains in doubt, and Arteta thinks he will be fit for Everton on Saturday 20 December.
