Winger who spent two seasons at Corinthians joins club in Kazakhstan

Early Monday afternoon (19), winger Igor Carioca, who played for Corinthians in the 2024 and 2025 seasons, was announced at AFC Kairat, from Kazakhstan. Click here to check out the post. In the last season, he was part of the squad that finished as runner-up in the National Futsal League (LNF) and the Paulista Championship. In addition, he was part of the winning teams at the Mucho Más International Tournament in Spain and the São Paulo Cup, both in 2025.

Igor Carioca left Corinthians last December, when his contract was not renewed with the club. It’s worth noting that the club is currently undergoing budget cuts for the 2026 season. As a result, the club chose not to extend his contract, nor to match the offers the player received.

Wearing the Corinthians jersey, he played 87 matches, with 47 wins, 15 draws, and 25 losses – a 59.7% success rate. He also scored 22 goals and provided 23 assists. In the National League final, the winger was noted for missing clear goal opportunities for Corinthians, which ended up being decisive for the team finishing as runners-up in the national tournament in 2025.

So far, Corinthians has not announced any new signings for the 2026 season, which will feature the Supercopa Gramado, Paulista Championship, and National Futsal League (LNF). On the other hand, the following players left the club at the end of last season/beginning of this year: defender Marlon, pivots Deives and Israel Neto, wingers Edimar, Luisinho, and Luizinho Brizzi. Considering youth players who had been used in the main team, Andrey, Yann, and Iván Monteros have also left.
